Interstate 10 (I-10) is the primary interstate facility that links all major cities through the Florida Panhandle and is also one of the most important transportation systems in Florida. Master planning of major transportation facilities such as I-10 has been essential to ensure the availability of capacity within the transportation network and to support the region’s traffic growth. A Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study and Interchange Modification Report (IMR) are currently underway for the I-10/US 301 Interchange. The general objective of these studies is to provide and document the necessary information for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to reach a decision on the type, design and location of improvements needed to alleviate the current traffic conditions, address capacity improvement needs, and implement interchange modification solutions to the I-10/US 301 Interchange.
